This May, Zaragoza became the epicenter of business innovation in Aragón with the second edition of the Ebro Innovation Day, an event led by Zebra Ventures in collaboration with FERSA, the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce, Caixabank Day One, and the Government of Aragón, strategic partner of the Bioloc research project.
This event was part of the SME Week in Aragón and brought together 150 representatives from over 100 companies across various regions, including Aragón, Madrid, Catalonia, La Rioja, and Navarra.
Open Innovation and Business Collaboration: Key Elements of the Ebro Innovation Day
The event was held at the Fersa Lab, a space dedicated to technological innovation. Throughout the day, essential topics were explored, such as business leadership, talent management, and the development of open innovation strategies for SMEs. These themes align with the mission of the Bioloc Project, which aims to strengthen bio-based and sustainable value chains in Aragón.
Attendees were able to share experiences and practical knowledge that will help drive the growth of their businesses through sustainable models, in collaboration with other players in the Ebro Valley business ecosystem. The support of the Government of Aragón was crucial in integrating the vision of the bioeconomy into these dynamics, demonstrating its commitment to economic transformation in the region.
CIRCE and Its Commitment to Sustainable Innovation at the Ebro Innovation Day
As part of the Bioloc Project, CIRCE – Centro Tecnológico actively participated in the event, bringing its expertise in bioeconomy and circular economy to support SMEs in their transition toward more sustainable business models. Although Zebra Ventures was the main organizer, CIRCE attended to foster synergies and explore new collaborations, always in line with the goals of the Bioloc Project to promote circular economy and sustainability in Aragón.
In the working sessions, CIRCE focused on connecting companies with innovative opportunities, helping to strengthen the bio-based value chains that are transforming the region’s economic landscape. This participation reinforces the commitment of CIRCE and the Bioloc Project to foster a collaborative ecosystem that leverages local resources and promotes a more green and resilient economic model.
Towards a Circular Future: The Impact of the Ebro Innovation Day on Aragón’s Ecosystem
The Ebro Innovation Day demonstrated that when SMEs, institutions, and research projects like Bioloc work together, new opportunities arise to transform the region. The event served as a platform for Aragonese companies to discover how open innovation and bioeconomy can be integrated into their strategies to drive sustainable development.
At CIRCE, we are convinced that these events are essential for strengthening the circular economy in Aragón and positioning the region as a leader in bioeconomy. We will continue to participate in and promote such initiatives to ensure that SMEs have the tools and support needed to lead the transition towards a more sustainable future, always aligned with the values and objectives of the Bioloc Project.
