The Circular Economy as a Driving Force for Change for SMEs in Aragón

Economía CIrcular, una oportunidad para las PYMEs de Aragón
Big transformations begin with small steps, and a spark of change was ignited in Huesca. At a meeting where the circular economy revealed itself as a tangible opportunity for SMEs, the most innovative minds of Aragón gathered to explore the future. On May 6, 2024, the event “Circular Economy, Opportunity for SMEs” took place in the Conexión Hall of the Walqa Technology Park in Huesca, organized within the framework of the European Bioloc project. This event was much more than just a day of talks: it was a celebration of innovation and commitment to the territory, led by the Government of Aragón and CIRCE – Centro Tecnológico.

Success Stories in Bioeconomy: Inspiration for Aragonese SMEs

Imagine a space where ideas flow and businesses are reinvented. From the initial presentations to shared experiences, companies like Eboca, Cervezas Borda, Valentia Emplea, and the Tararaina cooperative demonstrated that it is possible to close the loop, do more with less, and generate positive impact through bio-based models. These companies are changing the rules of the game: they leverage local resources, promote rural development, and, most importantly, transform their impact on the community. The Bioloc Project was designed precisely with this goal: to connect, empower, and transform value chains in the region through bioeconomy. The event became a lively forum, a place where Aragonese SMEs found inspiration and tools to adapt to a more sustainable economic model. During the round table, key players shared their experiences and discussed innovative strategies for SMEs to become drivers of change in Aragón.

Creating Networks and Alliances for a Sustainable Future

And in the end, during that coffee and networking moment, new doors opened, alliances were forged, and the seeds of future collaborative projects were sown. Because the true magic of the circular economy lies not only in theories, technologies, or statistics, but in the willingness to take a step toward a greener and more resilient future. Through the Bioloc Project, we continue to bet on these connections and on building an ecosystem where the circular economy becomes the engine of economic and social development in Aragón. Thank you to everyone who joined this meeting and to those who believe that transforming the present is the key to a better future.

Do you want to know what is happening in the Aragonese circular sector?
