BIOLOC will develop innovative solutions and business models and transpose them into region-specific packages.
BIOLOC will achieve this ambitious goal through a thorough methodological approach and specific actions that the project will implement in 12 European locations: Spain (Aragon), Greece (Western Macedonia), Bulgaria (Plovdiv), Slovakia (Nitra), Slovenia, Croatia (Adriatic), Hungary (North), Romania (West), Czech Republic, Netherlands (Apeldoorn), Germany (Baden-Württemberg), and Italy.
After assessing the biomass potential and bioeconomy value chains in the participating regions and analyzing the barriers that hinder the economically disadvantaged from engaging in related economic activities, BIOLOC will develop innovative solutions and business models and adapt them into region-specific toolkits.
BIOLOC aims to foster the socio-economic impact of the circular bioeconomy (CBE) by providing tailored recommendations and establishing multi-stakeholder hubs to promote sustainable and inclusive development. In Spain, DGA and CIRCE have join forces to develop the hub focusing efforts to contribute to marginalized groups empowerement, such as women and people with disabilities, while driving sustainable growth in rural areas through innovative and inclusive CBE initiatives.
