New CEPES Headquarter

25th of March of 2025

Last Thursday, February 27, the Social Economy Association of Aragon (CEPES Aragón) inaugurated its new headquarters in Zaragoza. The event was attended by a wide representation of individuals, entities, and public institutions that defend and participate in the Social Economy in Aragón, including CIRCE.

During the event, Adrián Serrano, president of CEPES Aragón, highlighted the association’s role in promoting and driving the Social Economy in the region, reviewing its impact in both urban and rural areas. The inauguration also marked the conclusion of the association’s 10-year trajectory in representing and disseminating the Social Economy, coinciding with the International Year of Cooperatives.

The Social Economy has a strong presence in Aragon, with more than 7,359 entities representing over 8.23% of the total active businesses in the region. These entities provide direct employment to nearly 23,000 people, accounting for 3.8% of total employment in Aragón, generating over 3.994 billion euros in revenue, and contributing 9.6% of Aragón’s GDP.

CIRCE attended this event seeking to support the Social Economy in Aragon in line with ongoing projects like the BIOLOC project. In this initiative, the support of CEPES has been key to understanding the region’s needs within the framework of the Social Economy and developing solutions tailored to its particularities. CIRCE reaffirms its commitment to technology transfer, sustainability and innovation to promote projects that drive the sector’s growth and competitiveness.

The inauguration of the new CEPES Aragon headquarters represents an important step in strengthening the Social Economy in the community, providing a space for meeting and collaboration among the sectorial entities, and keep promoting its growth and consolidation within Aragon’s economic framework.
